A beautiful addition to our growing library of graphic novels.This is Part 1 of a two-part series.I bought it for my oldest daughter on her 10th birthday. All my kids love the graphic novels of the classic European period - we have the complete Tintin and many in the Asterix series. We had bought another Blake & Mortimer book, The Yellow M, a few months ago. The kids responded well to it although it's content is a little more mature than Tintin and Asterix. The language and situations are tame, but the narrative and characterization are definitely more complex. It requires more concentration to read.I enjoy the Blake & Mortimer too. The entire visual tone is impressive - the way that Jacobs rendered cars, large machines, and massive architecture establishes the reality of the story. His masterful handling of the background graphics, plus the way he drew action sequences, lends the story a 'you are there' feel. Worth buying.

"The Mystery of the Great Pyramid" is teenage adventure fiction at its very best. Highly recommended.

Finally, after many years after Comcat put out a couple of B&M albums, someone is putting this series out in English. I've long heard about this series, but had never read it. It's great that they have, and I plan on getting all of them.If there is one issue I have, it's that I wish they had reprinted them in their original order. As the the 2-part "Mystery of the Great Pyramid" comes BEFORE the Yellow Mark, its a little confusing to read them out of order. And it appears the 4th book Cinebooks is putting out is actually the thirteen story, and one NOT done by EP Jacobs!!!I'd also love to see the Jacob's "U-Ray", the prototype standalone "flash gordon"-like story that served as a loose inspiration published as well.
